Shahi Paneer

For 4-5 normal people (for people like us -3 people)

Ingredients:
  1. 300 grams tomato (8 medium ones approx)
  2. 2-3 bay leaves
  3. 150 grams paneer (cottage cheese - desi style) cut into small 1/2 inch squares - if u get fried paneer.. good.
  4. 1 table spoon butter(ghee or oil can be used too)
  5. 1 tsp garam masala powder
  6. 1 tsp chilli powder
  7. 1 tsp jeera(cumin) powder
  8. 1 tsp sugar
  9. 1 tsp lime juice
  10. salt to taste
Procedure:
  1. Boil the tomatoes around 10 mins till they become soft and cooked
  2. puree the tomatoes by mashing them in a mixie(blender) till there are no lumps around
  3. Shallow fry the paneer in butter, ghee or oil if required (just in case ur diet concious, dont fry it..;) ).
  4. add all the indregients in pan except for paneer and heat on medium flame for around 5 mins..
  5. Add fried paneer and heat for on medium flame for 2 minutes
  6. garnish with coriander leaves and voila.. ur done..
  7. Serve with parotha, roti or naan. Can be served with basmati rice

Cooking Time:

10-15 mins...

Koyikode koyi biriyani

Indian Doc's http://isouthpotpourri.blogspot.com/2006/08/malabar-koyi-biriyanimalabar-chicken.html was just awesome.. some thing on for christmas I guess.. :) with all the drizzlling in Dallas today, it looks just delicious. No biriyani tastes better than Calicut Chicken Biriyani. worth the pain at the end of it..
